Gamdias ARES V2 Essential Combo | GKC-100 | Review

Hey guys this is rohith here from R.A Tech  here to review the combo.
Just Before getting started with the review I would like to get certain facts out of the way, so this keyboard cannot be compared to the likes of CM Storm Devastator combo  or Asus Cerebrus, this is only a keyboard for those on   a very strict or small budget .With that being said let's get the review started.

PACKAGING

The packaging is quite simple and once you open the box you find a user's manual which is common for both the gkc 100 and gkc 110 along with both the keyboard and mouse . I also made an Unboxing and quick look video of the combo which you can view from here.

KEYBOARD

The Keyboard that comes included in the combo  is essentially a membrane keyboard and not a mechanical one. It comes with Gamdias certified membrane switches and sport's a polling rate of 1000 Hz. Although not great it is quite good for everyday use. The WASD, Arrow keys and all the 10 extra multimedia keys comes coated in red in contrast to it's otherwise black color throughout.

The keyboard weights about 791g and feel's really sturdy when placed in the hand. and uses an USB interface over the PS2 one and comes with an 1.5m unbraided cable which is not that bad especially when considering the cost of this keyboard.
Yes it does include led lights but does not come with backlit LED it rather comes with two LED strips on either sides of the keyboard which is rather a gimmick than an actual feature. It also comes included with 10 extra multimedia keys other than the one's you find in a normal keyboard, It's function include- opening My Computer, Opening your Web Browser, Opening the Calculator, Pause/Play button , Volume increase and decrease button, mute button and so on which is really useful once you get the hang of it.

Another important feature that is worth taking a look at is the spill resistant design. The keyboard comes with drain holes at the back for letting out water that enter's inside. So in case of a water spill, you have to disconnect the keyboard and place it under the sun to let all the water  vaporize and then you can continue using it as usual.

Other than that all this all the keys feel tactile and really good to use, the keypress is registered only when you press the key's all the way in and the key's don't get stuck at any point and are really comfortable too. Even over long sessions of typing or gaming your fingers don't tend to get fatigued at all. The back of the keyboard sports anti slip rubber feet and are adjustable according to the user's  preference or the height of the desk which is quite a nifty feature.

MOUSE

The mouse that is included is just an optical mouse and comes with an advanced gaming optical sensor as claimed by gamdias and is not a bad thing at all especially when considering the price it comes at, It feel's really good to use but  let's get to that in a bit.

Just like the keyboard, the mouse has an unbraided 1.5m cable which again is not bad at all. It comes finished in matte and hopefully is not a fingerprint magnet which is a good thing.

The mouse is equipped with lights under the scroll wheel and unlike the Gamdias logo on the Keyboard the one on the mouse light's up and is really good to look at especially at night

The mouse sports a claw grip and weights  130g with no adjustable weight's and take's some time getting used to. It  comes with 6 key's in total and these include a left and right click button, scroll wheel, DPI switch, and two buttons to the left and right which are used to go back and forth a webpage. The DPI switch can be used to switch between a no. of DPI which includes the option of switching between 1200, 1600, 2000, and 3200 with 1200 as the default. The DPI you are currently in is indicated by the intensity of the red led lights below the scroll  wheel which kind of takes some time to get used to.

Nonetheless  the mouse feel's really good to hold and although it does not come with rubber grips on either sides it comes with a textured finish which really provides that required grip. The mouse sports some neatly laid out design up top and does not look overdone from any angle but rather looks quite stunning. It feel s really good in the hand and is really good for all the basic purposed and even some gaming.

                                                           VERDICT

The Gamdias Ares V2 essential combo aka GKC 100 comes with a really good keyboard which is really sturdy, made of good quality materials and is  great to type on, the mouse to is made of good quality materials and feels great for everyday usage. Although the sensors on either of them are not blazing fast they really seem to do their job and do it rather really well. But the only drag I find on this keyboard is the omission of backlight keys   but nonetheless for the price it is available for this combo provides a  really good value proposition and you can't go wrong with it.
